New Graduate Student Orientation - August 23rd, 9am at Graduate Life Center (GLC) Auditorium
Students will hear from Graduate School Dean, Dr. Aimee Surprenant, learn about services and opportunities for graduate students, and receive tips and advice from their peers during a graduate student panel. Register for orientation!
Welcome Back Barbecue - August 23rd, 5-7pm
Location: GLC lawn or multipurpose room
The Graduate and Professional Student Senate (GPSS) of Virginia Tech will be hosting our 2024 annual Welcome BackBBQ Picnic on August 23, from 5-7pm on the GLC Lawn. All VT graduate and professional students are invited! Enjoy free catered BBQ dinner from On-Site Culinary and lawn games++ with your fellow grad students. Come hang out, make new friends, catch up with old ones, and have a blast before the semester begins! Kindly be aware that food will be served on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. We welcome your ideas for new and exciting events to be held this year! We also gladly welcome other student-serving organizations to join us in creating events that serve our communities.
Dates and times of all events will be announced on this page, on our Twitter and Instagram (@VTGPSS) accounts, and through the weekly Graduate School listserv email.
Example volunteer opportunities: organization of events, marketing of events, vendor management for an event, set up of event, tear down at end of event, organization of participants and their activities.
