FALL BBQ WELCOME EVENT

DATE: Friday, August 18, 2022, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on the Graduate Life Center Lawn.

You are invited to the Graduate and Professional Student Senate Fall BBQ on the lawn in front of the Graduate Life Center! Come enjoy free tacos from Christiansburg's own Tacos El Tio, live music, games, and time to chat with fellow graduate students! Feel free to bring friends and family.

VOLUNTEER AT THE BBQ
We need graduate students to help set-up and tear-down for the BBQ. Volunteers will be asked to help from 4-8pm and do some lifting. Please do not apply if you would be uncomfortable doing these tasks. If you are interested in volunteering, please email gpss@vt.edu.

TELL THE BOV: GRAD STUDENTS NEED A LIVING WAGE!

If you're interested in increased pay and low or no fees for grad students, make your voice heard at the August Board of Visitors meeting in Roanoke being held on August 27-29!

Just like the last BoV meeting, GPSS is holding a virtual training on how to talk to BoV members about grad student issues on August 23. Additionally, GPSS will be coordinating carpools up to Roanoke for the three days of meetings.

Example volunteer opportunities: organization of events,  marketing of events, vendor management for an event, set up of event, tear down at end of event, organization of participants and their activities.

Questions? Please email the Director of Events from your VT email address.

Our Community Building events are opportunities for our graduate and professional students to connect on a deeper, more personal level, encouraging their personal and professional growth. We will host in-person and virtual events throughout the coming year.
